ISLAMABAD – Prime MinisterNawaz Sharif on Friday ordered action against the culprits involved in the act of burning a teenage girl alive in the name of honour in Abbottabad.
Nawaz said that the Abbottabad occurrence was not only inhumane but also illegal and against the teachings of Islam, which protects the rights of every single individual.
Islam does not allows such brutal incidents and those involved in the vicious decision of the so-called jirga for burning the girl alivein the name ofhonour should be brought to book and awarded exemplary punishment, he said.
The prime minister said that his government was in favour of providing basic rights and facilities to masses, especially those belonging to the deprived sections of the society. He said all resources were being utilised for the purpose. He warned that anyone found involved in negligence towards his duty would have to face stern action.
The prime minister’s order came after a calling attention notice by five female lawmakers here in the National Assembly earlier today.
